Ashley's Newsletter
Having my name mentioned by “Ashley's Newsletter" gave me hope of growing the readers of my posts.
I can't believe someone who is a major voice on Substack noticed my tiny contributions to this place.
When I joined Substack a couple of months ago after closing my Twitter account, I never expected to be read by the important people here.
I've emailed Twitter posts to people in media who I hoped would read and respond but Rachel Maddow, Ari Melber, Ali Velshi and Chris Hayes never responded.
Podcasters I support and follow like Jesse Dollemore and Brittany Page never responded to my emails.
But when someone I admire like Ashley takes the time to let me know they've read and appreciated my work, it makes me feel a pride that is wonderful.
I'm just a VERY old, disabled Vietnam veteran who has been a writer all my life. I never expected to get rich from my writing but some things are more important than money.
Being appreciated means so much to me. And I want each and everyone who follows and subscribes to my humble posts that THEY are APPRECIATED too.
Bob, my only paid subscriber, KNOWS how appreciated he is! Thanks for helping me feel that my words are worthy of being read. I can't tell you how much it means to me.
Just wanted to get that off my chest.

@Chuck Keller , I want to let you know how very grateful I am for such an amazing and beautiful article.
I am trying to find the right words to express my gratitude. The words “Thank you,” just doesn't seem enough for me, because no one has ever written about my Newsletter.
When I opened my desktop computer your article kicked me right of my Office chair.
Having to pick myself up off the ground is an understatement. I'mg 1M X times grateful to you. You most certainly made my entire week the “BEST WEEK” here on Substack.com.
