December 7.... "Be Prepared!"

The warnings about the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, were largely ignored by government officials in Washington DC.

That horrible event, 84 years ago, could happen today!  Incompetent people being in positions of power in our government INVITE attacks!

When competent Federal employees are disrespected and fired, we open ourselves to a foreign adversary like Japan or Osama Bin Laden or Ho Chi Minh planning and implementing a destructive attack on our nation.

Like the “Sneak attack" which affected me and DID kill MANY Americans in February, 1968, the TET offensive was predictable and preventable!

History is filled with proof of this theory.  I'm only mentioning these because today is the anniversary of the particularly relevant attack in Hawaii 84 years ago.

Maybe we, as a country, need a motto like the Boy Scouts:

"Be PREPARED!”

This country has the most powerful, well trained, expensive military in the history of the world!  But without competent civilian leadership, it becomes vulnerable to destructive attacks.

I lived through the TET Offensive in 1968.  It was not only predictable, it was inevitable!  Leadership "asleep at the wheel” will crash into reality.

It happened at Pearl Harbor.  It happened in Vietnam in 1968.  It happened on 9/11.  And it COULD happen again NOW!

The incompetence and blatant ignorance of the current administration is an invitation for terrorists to plan and commit atrocities not only worldwide but locally.

I sincerely hope I am wrong about this impending danger.  Time will tell if I'm a paranoid veteran or a prophet.

I'm afraid we are at our most vulnerable point in a century.  t-Rump is a sleepy, EVIL, incompetent monster who is backed by equally incompetent, soulless sycophants who are in positions which REQUIRE competency and attention to detail.

In the words of that great philosophical robot in the 1960s:

(“Danger, Will Robinson!” is a catchphrase from the 1960s sci-fi TV show Lost in Space. The show's robot, simply named Robot, would warn the young character Will Robinson of impending danger, often an alien attack, by shouting the phrase and waving his accordion arms. The phrase is now used jokingly by people who remember the show.)

But NOW is not the time for JOKES?  It's a time for SERIOUS people who KNOW what they're doing!  None of the t-Rump sycophants have either of those qualities!

Future history books will prove me either the paranoid fool or prophet of predictable doom.  

Tragically, I fear the time to prevent the inevitable “Sneak Attack" may have already passed!  As a devout atheist, I pray that I am wrong.

This country I have served and loved for almost 80 years MUST wake up from this nightmare of incompetence and ignorance.

Don't be "Will Robinson!”  Be the Boy Scout and "Be Prepared!”  It's not too late to turn our "Ship of State” before it hits the iceberg of another 9/11!

We MUST win this WAR!
