I was thinking today about how angry I was watching the images on TV when those hundreds of Vietnamese people were left standing on those stairs at our embassy in Saigon hoping for one more chopper that would save them from being slaughtered by Ho Chi Minh’s army.
I’ve read that the ICE budget now exceeds that of the U.S. Marine Corps. They’re hiring. They’re building facilities. I don’t think it’s hyperbolic or paranoid to imagine a full tilt authoritarian regime turning this system on us.
